Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Everyone loves chocolate-covered fruit, right? Make your own chocolate-covered strawberries simply and quickly. This recipe is so easy but it tastes like a million dollars. I used Nestle’s chocolate dark chocolate without adding anything to it, I just followed the melting directions on the bag and it worked out great.  I dipped bananas into the left over chocolate and it was delicious

Directions:
  1. In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and shortening(optional), stirring occasionally until smooth. Holding them by the toothpicks, dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture.
  2.  Insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.
  3. Turn the strawberries upside down and insert the toothpick into styrofoam for the chocolate to cool.

My very own Chicken Tinola

As I crave for filipino dish so I made this Tinolang Manok or Chicken Ginger Stew just like my Nanay used to make. At first i had a hard time finding the ingredients like papaya, chili leaves or malunggay. So looking for the substitute is my next option,  I just used Sayote and Spinach. My husband loves it when I cook, however this dish is a little bit too much ginger for him. Maybe next time i will put less ginger so he can enjoy it more. Cooking away from your native country is challenging but enjoyable, especially when you are with someone you love.  Happy Cooking!
